Heart Works Studio
As an artist, my practice is fully inspired by the earth under my feet. I have fallen in love with mimicking the world's beauty through functional ceramic vessels. Purchasing a piece of my heart's work will give you a piece of my love and passion for life.
Thank you for stopping in to take a look.

Heart Work’s studio
My functional ceramic art is all based off of my biggest inspiration, mother nature and all her elements. The deep peace and solitude that I find while in nature is the same stillness my mind finds while throwing and sculpting my pieces.

In my work I bring attention to the textures, colors, and shapes that are found in nature through mimicking different concepts and themes. With a tendency to explore different trout scales, wildflowers, mountain scapes, and the elements of the forest. My main techniques are the study of layering underglazes as well as the subtractive method of carving definitive details.

Throughout life we go through many experiences both good and bad. During those periods we develop relationships with inanimate objects in our lives that offer comfort and meaning. My intention with my work is to create a functional piece of art that represents my love and admiration for nature as well as encompass a piece of my heart’s work.

My ceramic practice is based around the dedication of spreading love through art. I do my very best to offer love and support or positively impact all those I encounter in this life. Through teaching for the City of Red Deer’s Arts and Culture program I feel that I am able to truly embody that statement. As I find the most pure forms of joy in the classroom watching students grasp and grow with their ceramic understanding. As an artist and a mental health advocate I aspire to share the healing outlet and the intricate process of ceramics in the classroom for as long as I am able.

Thank you for your support or interest in my journey.

Lots of love, Cheyenne
